Vision & Misson

Vision

Logos Classical Christian School exists to glorify God by educating students in the training and nurturing of godliness, wisdom, and virtue through a preeminently Christ–centered, academically robust, and classically disciplined curriculum.
Godliness, Wisdom, and Virtue

The ultimate aim of Logos is to train and nurture students in godliness, wisdom, and virtue. As such, our goal is not merely the informing of the mind, but the formation of the soul. Our teachers and staff are concerned most of all with the hearts of our students being bent toward Christ and conformed into his image.

Christ-Centered

At Logos, we believe Jesus Christ is Lord of all. As Colossians 1:16-17 says, “All things were created through [Christ] and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” Because all things hold together in Christ, every area of study ultimately points to him. He is the source, goal, or sovereign over every subject of study. Just as there are Spanish immersion schools and German immersion schools in which students are immersed in the language, Logos is a Christian-immersion school where students are immersed in Christ, the Word of God, and a Christian way of viewing the world in all that they do.

Academically Robust

God commands us to love him with all of our minds (Matt. 22:37). Therefore, Christians, of all people, should strive for academic excellence. At Logos, we will set the bar high for our students, knowing that they are capable of rising to the challenge.

Classically Disciplined Curriculum

And as a classical Christian school, we believe the best way forward in education is through looking backward to the robust education of the past. Classical education is a time-tested model of education that views reason and virtue as essential to the education of every student. Without training in reason, a student is left without the ability to discern the truth and think critically and think for themselves. Without the cultivation of virtue, students may be smart, yet completely lacking character. As C.S. Lewis once stated, “Education without values, as useful as it is, seems rather to make man a more clever devil.”

Classical Christian education cares deeply about both the formation of the mind and the heart. It pursues both scholarship and discipleship. Our heart-beat at Logos is academic discipleship.

Mission

The biblically grounded teaching method and the liberal arts curriculum direct student achievement toward mastery of the basics in all fields of learning, exploration of the arts and sciences, and the foundational principles of our Christian Faith.

Both the purpose and principles of the curriculum affirm the classical learning of the Christian West, the doctrines of the Protestant Reformation, and the spiritual, intellectual, and cultural traditions as they have been developed and refined over millennia by our Christian forebears. We, therefore, equip students with the knowledge, skills, and wisdom necessary to be effective leaders for Christ across a wide variety of professions and vocations. The aim is their loving Jesus Christ supremely with all their hearts and minds and equipping them to articulate clearly the Christian message.
