School Culture

At Logos, we desire not just for our curriculum to be grounded on the Word of God, but for every aspect of our day-to-day culture to be grounded in God’s Word. We desire for our school to be a place not only where students learn great truths but where they are formed by a uniquely Christian community.

Partnering with Parents

We believe parents have been given the primary responsibility by God for the training and education of their children. So, as a Christian school, our aim is to be a partner with parents in the common goal of the Christian education of their children. We encourage parents to visit and be involved in their children’s classrooms as often as they would like. Our teachers regularly engage with parents in the progress or struggles their students may be facing. When questions arise in the classroom that would best be answered by a student’s parents, our teachers encourage students to ask those questions of their moms and dads. We seek to support, honor, and reinforce our school’s parents throughout a student’s entire education.

Serving the Church

We believe the church is the center of God’s plans for the making of disciples of all the nations. As a Christian school, we view our role not as a para-church organization, serving alongside the church, but as a sub-church organization. We exist to serve the local churches of our community by providing a rich Christian education in which students will learn a deep love and commitment to their local churches.

In our commitment to the local churches of our community, we have the expectation for each family in our school to be committed to active membership and attendance in their local churches. A Christian school can never replace the primary work of the local church. Therefore, we believe that in order for students to truly flourish in Christian discipleship, commitment to a Bible-believing church is absolutely vital.

Awe and Wonder

Our desire for our students is not merely to learn facts and skills, but to be in awe of the great God whose Word and world they are daily studying and encountering. God’s creation declares his glory and displays his wisdom. So, whether in science or math, in history or language, we want our students to be in awe of the truth of God and the God of truth. When students are filled with awe and wonder, they are motivated to excel in their studies, not merely for a grade, but for the joy of discovering more of God and his truth.

Disciplined and Loving

An excellent education will include a disciplined and loving atmosphere. A healthy school and classroom must include rules that enable teachers and students to thrive in a focused and undistracted setting. Yet our rules will always be wrapped in love by teachers who care deeply about the souls of each and every student. The result is teachers whose primary concern is discipleship, not simply discipline. A disciplined classroom, combined with a culture of grace and spiritual care, helps create an environment where learning and growth can truly flourish.

Biblically Holistic Education

God created us not merely as minds, but as souls, and more than that, as embodied souls. So, at Logos, we care about the education and training of students as whole persons - in mind, soul, and body. A classical education trains students in the right use of the mind in knowledge and reason. It will also seek to cultivate the soul in Christian character and virtue. Lastly, it will provide opportunities to strengthen and steward their bodies in service to God and others.
